Mma Ramotswe is a good detective. In the first part of the story, the writer described both her childhood and her great story about her client. Mma Ramotswe didn’t have a good time when she was a child. She spent most of her time without her father, Obed Ramotswe. He was working in another city. He just sees his daughter once every month. Therefore, Ramotswe’s cousin and looked after her. She spent all the time with her. She took care of everything, such as taking her to Sunday school and learning her about good and evil things. When she was ten years old, she drew a picture of goats and she had a big prize for it. Later on, Mma Ramotswe became a good lady. She married a bad man and had a bad time with him.

There are two great stories of two clients. In this story, we see Mma Ramotswe had a good way to find out the truth. The first client is about Happy Bapetsi. This girl, her father disappeared long time ago. Her life was good until one day a man came at her home and told her that he is her father. She was finally happy but after a long time. However, she realized that this man just want to stay at her home to eat and take her money. Therefore, Bapetsi decided to go to Mma Ramotswe to know whether this man is her father or not. Mma Ramotswe figured out a good way to find out the truth. She went to Bapetsi’s home and told the man that his daughter is in hospital and she needs a blood donation. When the man heard that, he confessed that he is not Bapetsi’s father.

The second story is about a woman who doesn’t know where her husband has gone. Mma Ramotswe went to the place where this man used to works. The people said that this man disappeared when he was working near the water. Therefore, she decided to bring a dog at night near the water to see what is going there. At mid night, she found that there is a crocodile in the water. When she killed it, she knew that the crocodile ate the man.
